Lately I've been working on a giant watercolour for my sister-in-law's new place. It's been quite an adventure because I haven't done anything this size for a long time. Clearing a work space big enough for the paper was the first major hurdle.
Luckily one of my daughter's is away at university so I took over her room.
The pot was to match their new accent wall which is to be painted a colour called, "elegant plum". Elegant plum is not a colour I normally use, so it took a little experimenting but I think it's the same hue. (I HOPE!)
Then I got carried away with the new Joanna Newsom CD and didn't notice that the pencil lines for the bricks were erased. The result is that the bricks look like they're going to fall onto the patio. This could smash the carefully painted elegant plum pot!
Thanks to 300 pound watercolour paper and an exacto knife the bricks were re-layed. The fire logs have arrived.
This it the photo I started with.
And here is a rather poor photo of the painting. Right now it's being pressed, but when it is flatter I hope to take a better picture of it. This one was taken while standing on a chair. Hope you like it Alanna and Rick!
