Here's my new and improved Red Bird linocut.  Two posts back, I wrote about how dissatisfied I was with this print.  I've lightened the blue and taken out the extraneous branch and the leaves and added flowers.  I also figured out a way to deal with the edges using a method I call "towel edge".  I'm sure others have used towels before me but it's fun to think of it as my own invention.
It is now on display in my Etsy shop and in a white frame on my wall : )

I love, love, love this. I love birds, the detail in the negative spaces, the colors. Love.

Wonderful to see some printmaking. Would love to know what the 'towel edge' is. I love to see soft and/or ragged edges on a print. Your red bird looks just great.

Thanks Ingrid : D
Towel edge, hehe, that's when I get a damp towel and dab it on the edge of the lino before printing to get the soft edge. Is there a more professional term?

I've missed out on so much since the holidays! I love what you've been working on since then and love how this little guy turned out! Red is my favorite color :)
