Five Colours! 11/25/2011
 
I finally got all five colours done! I'm quite happy with the result.  There are lots of imperfections on each print but I'm clinging to the Japanese  wabi-sabi asthetic that the beauty is found in imperfection.  I love that idea.  I do think that the fact that the colours don't line up perfectly creates movement. However,  I will try for better registration next time (that's lining up the plates).  I also did two prints on brown paper.  Which do you like better?

i love them!! did you use lino? I have no idea how to price them. how big are they? maybe 120? .

Really nice, with a great mix of patterns. I agree about imperfections (though you are probably the only one who sees them!) I think I like the white one slightly better because the white tendrils add such a bold element.

Don't make me choose! Love them both. As for imperfections, my own philosophy for printmaking, is if I wanted perfection, I'd press a button and get something processed by a machine.

I'm seriously impressed, I would never have the patience... I like how in the brown version, the paper comes forward and mingles with the inked areas. Having said that, I think they are both beautiful.

What great movement! I love them both. I can see the white one on a wall in a frame and the brown one as fabric. Like on a bed spread or pillows. Fabulous!
