Why that title?
Because the great and mysterious gods at google have me listed seventh now under BLOG.  After that they quote the one line I have that mentions them.  I want them to notice little me as 'CranberryCloud',  'Laurel Martin', 'Art' or some such, not just "Blog".   This is a blog, but really, 'blog' is such a weird word.  Normally I love weird words,  like 'extrude' and 'woolies'  and 'extremophile', but not when I'm being googled.  So I'm hoping the above title will help.
I am getting closer and closer opening my store.  Really I am.  I have this voice in my head that keeps saying, "Why are you dilly dallying, get it open."  But really there is so much to do.  Everything from packaging to paypal to writing a bio.  Soon Soon Soon!
Now off to work I go so  I leave you with a fun picture that I just completed for the store.

I feel I have been neglecting you.  But I have been stuck in a quagmire of details that I must wade through in order to open my Etsy store.  Today I researched printers.  How hard can it be to find a nice local printer who will show me all kinds of lovely papers, make helpful suggestions and have prices that allow me to be competitive.  I spent three hours looking up printers on my computer after which I was cross and cross-eyed.  There were printers who had lovely services and papers in the far reaches of the world, but nothing local.  There were local printers whose prices were more than I planned to charge per print.  Finally I got in my car and drove to a printer who advertized art reproduction.  Hopefully if I went in person someone would help me.  I wanted to be sold on their marvelous services.  Into the store I went and asked if they did art prints,  "Yes but nothing smaller than 11*14". That wasn't so good for my little 7*7 watercolour.  "Do you have any nice matte paper?",  I asked.  "This is matte" , said the man pointing at some shiny thin paper.  Home again I went and back to my computer.  However, I think I have prevailed.  I found a printer who does fine art prints at reasonable prices.  I emailed them and they responded right away, even calling me by name!  My hopes are high!
I have also been doing some pictures for the store.  Doing art is a great stress reliever!

A Preview of coming attractions.

Apparently drawing strange little bendy houses runs in the family.  These weird little domiciles were drawn by my son Christopher, even before I ventured into the world of strange housing.  Is there a genetic propensity to draw warping worlds or did Christopher learn this from living in the warping world of the Martin family.  We may never know.  I had just drawn the little scene below when he showed me his own handiwork from several years ago.  I think there is a family resemblance!

Finally!!!! I have designed my new banner.  Drawing it was easy, but learning GIMP to edit it took me a week.  However, I have prevailed and The GIMP was well worth learning.  Hopefully the rest of my store set-up won't be soooo time consuming.  Now I just have to figure out why google hasn't found my CranberryCoud domain name.  You should be able to type in CranberryCloud and find me and this isn't happening.  I hope this doesn't take another week to figure out!
