"Only old ladies paint flowers" is something Becky said to me several years ago and now whenever I paint flowers I can't help but think of it.  Last week was my birthday and the weather has been so grey and rainy and I've been so tired that I thought maybe I was an old lady.  After a good sleep, I've decided that I'm not an old lady and I don't plan on being one until I'm at least 95.  So I painted more flowers and Becky likes them.  Mostly I think that flowers are a great idea when you want to watch wet paint swirl around in wet paint and then wonder what to do with it.  If you are reading this and you consider yourself to be old and a lady, you may have the ability to paint wonderful flowers.
   Thanks to Judy Livingston's good advice I'm going to try acrylics in the fall,  if I can get myself enrolled.   That should be fun!
  

Sunday  we packed up alot of art and set it up on artist's alley (alias Robinson St).  I only had a couple of little pieces but John brought quite a bit and Becky did too.  John's art has never been outside the house before so he was very excited and he sold 4 pieces!  He sold the one he calls The Beatles which is the black and white one behind him and also the moose.  I will miss the moose.  Also a couple of little ones.  Apparently we are now called The Martin Art Collective and are soon to be part of the Markham Arts Council, if I fill out the form.  All in all it was a very busy day.  John talked non-stop and painted on his Van Gogh and on his clothes.  It's not really something I can explain.  What I found most amazing was not the things coming out of John's mouth,  "Cezanne was such a lazy painter, he never finished anything", but how the people he was talking to would agree with him!  Next time I think I'll have my own table if I can get enough art together.

Becky gave many free demos of hand building which she teaches at her summer camp, "Earthworks Art" at Markham Village Pottery and Eleanor sold these two little guys.  Buy one and Eleanor can afford another Copic marker!

I bought this bok choy awhile ago and put it in the crisper of my fridge where I promptly forgot about it.  Today, I wondered what the yellow colour in my crisper was and when I opened the drawer, low and behold, these lovely floweres were growing out of the bok choy.  I should draw them.  This is a great improvement on the mold I normally find.
On another note, I have gotten rid of my home page because it seemed rather useless.
